Best Brochure Designing tips for your business

Though there are many ways to spread the business message. Importance of business brochure designing got its importance among all other ways and methods of promotion. The fact is a brochure will help in promoting the business. Coming to the details, brochures are the advertising pieces mainly used to introduce a company or organization and to communicate information about products and/or services to the target audience. Brochure designigng can be classified mainly into two, one is online Brochures in the soft form and printed brochures in the hard form. Brochures are distributed by radio, handed out personally or placed in brochure racks. Brochures may be considered as grey literature. Online brochures or soft form of the brochure can be thought of as a multimedia content or picture or audio carrying the product or service awareness message. Similarly, printed brochures are the brochures that contain information printed on hard sheets of paper using colorful inks and graphic designs.

Though the developments in technology changed the way of purchasing style and method of the customers. It is not true that all the customers are interested in online shopping only. The customer interested in online purchase will go through the awareness information provided through online brochures or brochures in the soft form, but the chances of remembering the details of the product or service are more with printed brochures.  Since a brochure looks like a page that can be folded into a flayer, pamphlet or leaflet used to communicate the information about something related to a product or service. Similarly the most common types of single-sheet brochures are the bi-fold where a single sheet printed on both sides and folded into halves and the tri-fold  in which case it can be folded into thirds having the same information. A bi-fold brochure results in four panels, two panels on each side, while a tri-fold results in six panels with three panels on each side. Different folding arrangements were discovered to convey the message through an attractive brochure. Other folder arrangements are listed as the accordion method or “z-fold” method, the “c-fold” method. Brochure printed on larger sheets having detailed maps or expansive photo spreads, are folded into four, five, or six panels. But z-folded brochure is used when two card fascia are affixed to the outer panels, which is also known as “z-card” method. Printed brochures are useful to inform about  Concerts, Lectures, Theatre tours, Literary festivals, Jazz festivals, Openings of new shops/restaurants/bars, Seasonal events at garden centres, Exhibitions at galleries or museums, Conferences, Trade shows and Workshops.

1. Focus on front cover

It is must design an eye-catching front cover. Because it plays a crucial role in encouraging the readers to pick it up in the first look itself. So remember to use large display typescripts, strong colours and striking images on the front cover. It should also be remembered that having too much text is not a necessity. But adding snippets having text message help the reader engaged and excited.

2. Focus on content

Remember that, there is no need to put content section or content page in the brochure. But it would be helpful, if the brochure is longer than a few pages and has more than three sections. It is also good to have a layout to publish a list of contents useful for the reader as the layout helps to break up the content into different pages that looks pleasing to the eye.

3. Block text

Remember to provide useful and important information only brochures. It would be helpful if the content gives information about the event, its history and the philosophy that lies behind it. It should be ensured that the amount of text used is appropriate or not for the audience and the way in which they will be using the brochure.

4. Maps and floor plans

Remember to include visuals to help the visitor to navigate at the place of event. It would be very helpful if the visual contains navigation information with a fabulous design. Provide floor plan or location map along with landmarks and facilities if any.

5. Directions and location

Remember to provide directions to the event location to help the audience or consumer to know about ” how to reach the location”. Have the directions along the roadways with special symbols to specify different landmarks.
